What should you consider when planning an investment?
Choosing graphite polystyrene as thermal insulation in construction offers a number of benefits, which have recently led investors and contractors to increasingly choose this solution. In the long run, it’s best to be aware of the money being spent wisely. Well-spent funds provide a return on material costs, and in simple calculations, translate into savings and lower heating costs. A better-insulated home means lower energy consumption.
Why is it worth choosing graphite polystyrene for home insulation?
Modern graphite polystyrene is a good investment in energy efficiency. Using this insulation allows for a reduction in the thickness of the polystyrene boards in selected areas, and thanks to its improved insulating properties, less material is needed to meet standards. For example, using thinner layers in areas such as windows or balconies will prevent daylight loss from entering the rooms, brightening the space without compromising the quality of the thermal insulation, for which using a thinner layer is an excellent and practical solution.
Which graphite polystyrene should I choose?
Styrofoam versions are available for various building components, such as roofs, floors, facades, and foundations. The key is that the Styrofoam meets standards and has the appropriate parameters to successfully insulate the building. The most important factor – the thermal conductivity coefficient λ – often reaches λ ≤ 0.031 [W/(MK)] for graphite Styrofoam, indicating the highest insulation class.
Graphite granules improve thermal insulation properties, and polystyrene is perfect for thermal insulation in passive and energy-efficient houses.

Depending on the stage of investment advancement and the planned funds, we can choose several solutions:
Grafit-Styr® EPS 033 is a graphite polystyrene foam that meets all standards, primarily used as thermal insulation for exterior walls. Offering excellent thermal insulation, it is the standard polystyrene foam used in modern construction. Its competitive price, thermal conductivity coefficient of λ ≤ 0.033 [W/(MK)], and wide availability are unquestionable advantages when choosing this product.
Grafit-Gold® EPS S 031 is a high-quality graphite expanded polystyrene with enhanced thermal insulation properties. This high-class thermal insulation is suitable for insulating exterior walls, floors, pitched roofs, and flat roofs. It is recommended for all locations requiring reduced insulation thickness. The conductivity coefficient for Grafit-Gold® is λ ≤ 0.031 [W/(MK)].
Black-Styr Universal® EPS 100 031 is an exclusive, top-class graphite expanded polystyrene foam that, in addition to its excellent thermal conductivity of λ ≤ 0.031 [W/(MK)], also boasts WL(T)4 waterproof properties. Furthermore, its resistance to compression, bending, and tensile forces have been enhanced. These characteristics allow for comprehensive and universal use in modern construction. Highly durable, top-class thermal insulation for use as an underlayment for flooring, ground-level floors, foundations, building facades, and even solid and ventilated flat roofs.
